1821 Dark has grown a bit of a cult following. The sister beer to our 1821, it has all the same family ingredients that make the 1821 special. In addition we cold brew this beer to really bring out special flavors. Be sure to try the barrel aged version if it's on tap as it sells out within a week or two.

Charcoal and french press coffee nose. Black, medium tan head, good lace. Charred oak, mulberries, but not super sweet or fruity. Very toasty. Medium body, soft carbonation. Less Belgian character than I expected. Enjoyable.

4oz draft pour at New District. Poured a very dark, almost black color with a small light tan head. Aroma was strong roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, lot of bitterness, burnt notes. Herbal and earthy hops. A little one dimensional, but decent - definitely one I would order again.
