Originally a Rugby World Cup 2015 special but has reappeared for other Rugby events since.

A bold English Bitter. Fruity on the palate and a malty sweetness leads to a peppery note for a smooth finish.

Hand-pulled half-pint in The Hogshead, Wolverhampton on 4th Mar 2020. Amber body, smooth white topping. Decent enough blend with nothing to set it apart from other Bitter's. Neither malty or hoppy, just a 'middle of the road' Bitter.

Cask at PoW, Farnborough. Nil aroma. Light chestnut. Thin bubbly translucent white head. Light bitter with a malty undertow. Is there some spice? Maybe. Light bodied but has some buoyancy thanks to soft carbonation. Abrupt finish. Just really so boring. How's it relate to rugby? (Well, it could be the boring bit).

Cask at the Lyndhurst, Reading. Amber with a thick cream head. Smooth and fruity up front, some caramel and straw, then a good earthy bitterness. For a sports tie-in beer from a regional brewer this a surprisingly good. Take that back, on drinking more it gets a bit minerally. Still ok though. And I’ve got the day off tomorrow so I’m feeling pretty happy with the world and willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. Bit of spice following through now which I like. Lasting bitter finish. Yep, this is alright.
