This bottle conditioned cloudy wheat beer brewed with fresh ginger and hand squeezed fresh lemons will be able to cool you down this summer. Nose: Ginger and lemon. Palate: Fruity ginger with a blend of zesty lemons and some hops to give it a bitter tang. Food pairing: Symposium is great to drink with fragrant Indian dishes as well as BBQ chicken.
Symposium takes it name from the ancient Greek for ‘to drink together’, which is exactly what how this thirst-quenching tipple should be enjoyed.

Bottle from Halifax Beer Factory, Halifax. Hazed golden-yellow with a carbonation and a small head. Lemon is dominant in its aroma, with a dryish wheat texture. Lemon is again dominant in its taste with the ginger more prevalent in its aftertaste. There’s a light banana influence too.

Bottle that Jim shared- cheers! It’s a very pale hazy gold colour. It tastes of wheat and lemon; I’m not really getting the ginger that’s meant to be there. It’s on the thin side but that works with the beer in this case and just makes it more refreshing. I like it- it’s just the sort of beer you’d want on a hot day, or as a mid-session refresher at a beer festival.

Bottle from S H Jones Bicester. Hazy pale gold lasting thick white head. Spicy wheat beer aroma. Lots of pepper and spice. Black pepper. But only some bitterness on the finish. Interesting if explosive beer. Good flavours. Food lemon. Spicy lemon perfumed beer. Good.

Bottle (Stockholm Beer Festival 2013) - Amber with a slight haze. Lemon, malt and ginger in the aroma. Tangy, zingy and spicy taste with ginger and lemon combining nicely. Very refreshing.

Bottled@SBWF2013. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is ginger, some citrus and mild wheaty and herbal notes. Flavour is fruits, some wheat, nectar and mild toffeeish notes. Quite mellow ginger here, making this a rather refreshing beer.

50cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. A cloudy, pale straw, pour with a fast fading white head; grainy aroma; rather thin the mouth, with a predominantly citrus flavour, followed by a brief surge of hoppy bitterness and then some warmth from the root ginger. Certainly refreshing, but not much more.

50cl bottle. Pours golden with a slim head - very low carbonation. Nose of ginger ale and lemonade. Ginger, light wheat flavour, light mouthful. The palate is light to medium in body with light to medium in texture with a dry but not that refreshing. Overall, not worth revisiting.
