Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a ruddy burnt amber color with a fair cap of a little white head. Dies off at a mild pace leaving some light speckled lace.
The aroma had some nutty, caramel and toffee malts playing with some grassy sweet hops. Light earthiness, and a tad of herbal qualities to it.
The flavor combines the malts with the the hops gently. Leaves a bready caramel malty aftertaste. Quick malty finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Mild carbonation. ABV seemed appropriate.
Overall, amber ale with a British ale yeast? I’m left scratching my beard but I do know Barrington likes their British ale yeasts, I wouldn’t put it past them. Perhaps again.
