Dec. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle at La Calamita, Rome. It poured a hazy yellow body with medium sized head. Aroma showed orange peel hops, light yeast, light biscuit and vanilla. Flavor was lightly sweet, lightly bitter to sour with elegant lemon and orange notes, biscuit and vanilla malt and lots of yeast. Not so typical for the style for its own good. Medium bodied, higher carbonation with moderately long, lightly sour finish where yeast and orange played the main role. All that orange peel and associated bitterness with fuller body made it actually more than a half way from saison to a tripel, than IPA generally. Anyway, very good!
