Well, it’s been some time since I had the first entry. Had this on 4th August, draft at Eleszto, Budapest. Hazy darker brown bodied with medium sized brownish head. Caramel, some fine herbal/peppery hop aroma, touch of chocolate and a bit vinous, giving it indeed a bit of Belgian bock feel. Flavor was pleasant, although messy, vinous, some bitter herbal notes intertwine with coffee sweetness/acidity/whatever, adding up with some wood and cooked plums later on. Generally bitterness is most dominating anyway. Fuller in body, which is expectable for a doppelbock at 8%. Spicy and earthy in the finish, along with some licorice and coffee notes. Alright, quite fine one, but had potential to be better I reckon.
