With its deep amber color, distinctive rich flavor and full body, Shiner Bock demonstrates the care of a handcrafted brewing process to bring forth a mellow taste free of the bitter aftertaste found in many micro, specialty and imported beers. Just think of it as Shiner smooth.

Pours dark amber with a thin white head. Not too much aroma, somewhat of a malty scent. Taste is of sweet malt, relatively watery. Palate contains very very subtle hops. Not great.

From backlog. Sweet, malty and caramely with hints of syrup and toffee, a bit unbalanced and stuffy.

I know I rated Shiner Bock previously, not showing up. Time to try it again. Poured from a 12 oz can taken from a twelve pack bought at one of the local supermarkets. It is a deep dark brown with a small, light tan head. It smells of malt and grain. The taste is surprisingly light for such a heavy presence, the malt again, water, rice and an easy bitterness. Not great, not bad. The low ABV makes this very sessionable. Lone Star may claim to be the national beer of Texas but I think Shiner Bock claims the title now. 7/22/18

Can from a United Airlines flight. Clear amber body with a medium beige head that fades. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of wood, rusted metal and brown sugar. Flavour of stewed tea, toffee and nuts. Thin body with a watery texture. Light fizz. Mild but balanced. It’s strange that the can doesn’t show the ABV.

Clear amber brown colour, small foamy off-white head, dissipating quickly, minimal lacing. Aroma roasted malts, caramal, candy sugar. Taste medium sweet and slightly bitter, malty, roasty, caramel. Sweetbitter aftertaste, burnt caramel, earthy notes, medium body, watery to oily texture, soft carbonation, overall not bad but I wouldn't call it a bock.
