Bottle 19th February 2020, Fair Market, Austin, Texas. A bit of a staple in Texas, had this is a bottle in Austin, was OK, but wore a little thin

From bottle. Light roasted malt, corn and caramel. Light malty sweetness, minimum bitterness. Light bodied, watery texture, soft carbonated. This is more an Amber Lager than a Dunkler Bock, however quite refreshing and drinkable, when cold.

Finally a beer I want to try on a flight! I heard this is a classic heritage brew from Texas. Spoetzl Shiner Bock This beer is caramel brown in color with a thick beige head. The aroma is bready brown sugar buns with a touch of spice. Medium bodied and sweet caramel then bready malts, malty yet balanced. A well made bock, not the top of the top but to get it on a flight for free it was amazing.

Surprised I haven't checked in this legend. Malty candy bar (but not malt bomb overly sweet ewww) that's super available and super easy drinking. It gets bonus points for sure for that.

Pours dark amber with a thin white head. Not too much aroma, somewhat of a malty scent. Taste is of sweet malt, relatively watery. Palate contains very very subtle hops. Not great.
