Oblivion is our thickest, richest Imperial Stout yet. We aged this variant for 14 months in barrels that held rum, then maple syrup. Dense and slightly sweet, look for notes of figs, plums and other dark fruits along with a slight roast, a touch of smokiness from the barrel and a kiss of chocolate to finish.

My 800th Pennsylvania beer rating. 500 ml waxed and capped bottle from Capone’s in Norristown. Jet black pour. No discernible head. Sweet roasted malt aroma hints at oak, maple and chocolate. First sip brings a dose of bittersweet, viscous, dark, sticky maltiness. Incredibly rich and luxurious. Notes of dark chocolate, maple syrup, oak, warming alcohol and dark dried fruits. Quite unique.
