G.B.Best is based on the Golding Hop. It is lighter than other Grainstore beers, possessing a pronounced floral flavour and aroma with a residual sweetness retained from a lower fermentation temperature.

Introduced into our range in late 2012, the name is a play on words. GB (Great Britain) alludes to the Union Jack flag in the background, but is also the initial letters in the name Grainstore Brewery.

Cask at the Drayman, Ely. Pours dark amber with a very small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, hop and fruit. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation.

Tried at the Ritz JDw, Lincoln. Deep golden colour with a light off white head. Aroma is light malty, and slight caramel. Taste light floral sweet. Medium body.

Gravity at The National Winter Ales Festival. Shared with Finn. Clear golden body. Naked at the top. Oily hops and grainy malts on the nose. Mild brown malty flavours alongside moments of fruity hops. Fair bitter ending. On par with the style (Derby 18.02.2016).

Fra cask/gravity på NWAF i Derby 18 Feb 16. Delt med Rune. Varm gyldenbrun. Syltynt filmskum. Saftaktig. Tydelig aroma av lær & plommer. Smaken ganske lik. Blir lett syrlig etter hvert.

Cask at the Bankers Draft (JDW), Bedford. Mid to dark gold with a cloud of white head on top. Slight lemony hoppy scent, a bit of rosehip and grapefruit. Malt-led taste: sweet and grainy. Finish is more bittersweet with the return of the hop. Luscious mouthfeel. A fine beer.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2011, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.Clear medium orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, ripped fruit, citrus notes. Flavor is moderate sweet, light light acidic and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, malty, fruity acidic notes. Body is medium, texture is zily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20110804]

Cask @ GBBF, 2011. Pours clear golden with a small creamy white head. Grain, hay and diacetyl. Thin. Weak hops.

Cask@GBBF2011. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, wood, earth, some slight toffee and mild nutty notes. Flavour is fruity, floral and freshly cut wooden notes. Mild maltyness as well. Semidry palate.
