MacArdle Moore Brewery was a brewery in Dundalk, Ireland, formed in 1850 from the merger of two older breweries, McAllisters and Wynnes. Over the years it was to become almost synonymous with brewing in Dundalk. It joined the Guinness empire in the late 1960s. The brewery was closed in 2000.
MacArdles is a very nice clean crisp Irish Red Ale. The beer is an amber red in color and has an aroma that is a combination of English hops and fruity esters. The flavor starts out with a light malt flavor that fades into a light crisp hop finish. Brewed with Pale Ale, Cara Vienne and Cara Munich Malts with First Gold Hops.

Bottled at Bull & Castle, Dublin. Clear orange/brown, rocky head. Marked roasty/peaty aroma and flavour. Mid sweet with clean, soapy mouthfeel and light body. Salty and peaty with growing resiny bitterness. Despite pleasant surface the character is shallow.

Bottled. An amber beer with a light tan head. The aroma is sweet malty combined with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caraemel, leading to a metallic finish. The body is thin. Thanks KimJohansen for sharing.

500ml can from Garthicus; Thanks Al! Nose of caramel, grassy vegtal notes, and a hint of light vanilla in the background; rusty copper color with a big beige, glass-lacing head; flavor has caramel malt, light hop bitterness, and a very light pepperiness; finish lightly bitter. If I could buy cases of this 4% brew here in the US, it would be my lawnmower brew for hot summer days! Nice , light, tasty, mildly hoppy, dark brew!

(Draught at Taphouse, Belfast, on 2008-06-30) Pale amber. Clear. Medium-sized white head. Weak malty nose. Dryish medium palate with some carbonation. Lightly roasted malts and some bitterness in taste. Dull.

(Can 50 cl) Courtesy of BelJohansen. Clear, amber golden with a creamy, off-white head leaving some laces. Very weak nutty aroma. Light in body with a soft mouthfeel, a slight nuttiness and some roasted malt. No real bitterness. 080408
