MacArdle Moore Brewery was a brewery in Dundalk, Ireland, formed in 1850 from the merger of two older breweries, McAllisters and Wynnes. Over the years it was to become almost synonymous with brewing in Dundalk. It joined the Guinness empire in the late 1960s. The brewery was closed in 2000.
MacArdles is a very nice clean crisp Irish Red Ale. The beer is an amber red in color and has an aroma that is a combination of English hops and fruity esters. The flavor starts out with a light malt flavor that fades into a light crisp hop finish. Brewed with Pale Ale, Cara Vienne and Cara Munich Malts with First Gold Hops.

Medium offwhite coarse uneven head does not last. Deep rich brown body with carbonation. Light unclean caramel and corn aroma. Dry-sweet roasty sugary caramel taste, kind of artificial. Smooth, almost slick, mouthfeel. Mid to light body. Unbalanced. Burnt, sugary taste lingers. Did not like this. (0.5l can, Dunnes Stores, Dublin.)

Beer number 400! Anyway, it pours with a relatively light red brown color and an ok looking slightly tannish head. Some fruity aroma along with malts. Taste was minimal actually, but I did detect a little bit of fruit, marginal hops, and some malts. Nothing special. Too carbonated in my opinion, but maybe that was just because I got it from a non-nitro can.

Can. Dark copper brown color, decent head. Grassy, slightly skunky nose with toasted malts and caramel. Notes of burnt sugar, crisp mouthfeel, then lightly hoppy and toasted malty aftertaste. Quite bland - but something you could expect from Diageo Ireland.

Canned(500ml). -How come nobody tried this irish beer, especially because it`s mentioned in Glover`s The world encyclopedia of beers. My friend found this beer in Dublin (can). This is just average irish beer, amber color, fruty taste, slight bitterness, little head. I expected much more.
