Dark session beer with a sophisticated blend of malts and distinctive hop character to give fresh, light coffee aromas. Well-rounded and very quaffable.

Cask at the Nags Head, Reading. Chocolate brown with a thin cream head; chocolate malt aroma; rather thin body, dry with sour fruit and chocolate flavours and a hint of coffee; nutty finish. Very drinkable, but I’m not sure whether this is trying to be a mild or a bitter.

On gravity at Swindon BF 30/10/08. Mahogany with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, grassy hops and barnyard earthiness. Flavour was complex, with some sweet malts, fruit and tonnes of floral and grassy hops. Would agree that this tasted like a hoppy mild. Great, original stuff.
