Maris Otter pale malt combines with crystal and caramel malts to create our full-flavoured best bitter. Traditional English hop varieties, Challenger, Goldings and Northdown, impart an excellent full-bodied character.

Hand-pulled half-pint in Montgomery Towers, Shrewsbury on 27th Jan 2014. Amber with a creamy head that gave some impressive lacing. The beer sweetened as it warmed a little in the glass, it has almost equal measures of both malt and hops within the nose and flavour with a slightly fruity feel throughout. Decent and fairly interesting.

Cask, gravity at Cheltenham Town hall, Cheltenham, Glos weekend of Cheltenham Folk Festival Sat 11th Feb 2012 Amber in colour with a good clarity. This is a fairly simple bitter but nonetheless it is enjoyable. Simple fruity flavours meld well with a middling bitterness. Fine. b> A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3 Had this again on Cask at The St Aldates Tavern, Oxford for (Ferrets birthday beer crawl) in the company of Ferret, Nellie, Phil, Kerry, Bruno, Yogi and others on Saturday 15th October 2016 Pours dark amber in colour fruity but with a good dose of caramel l, lacks a little hoppiness but it’s fine.
