Every mill had a steam engine for driving equipment throughout the factory.
Each steam engine had to be ‘stoked up’ with coal to keep a good head of
steam, which in turn gave you a ‘slake of a thirst’.

Hops: Challenger , Fuggle, Goldings
Malt: Pale Ale, Black & Chocolate

From cask. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted and dark malty. Light breadish and dense fruity. Bitter and dry malty into a bitter finish. Ends bitter and dry. Bitter and dry roasted malty into the finish.

Cask gravity at Ashford Rugby Club BF 2007. Very deep ruby with thin beige head. Not a huge aroma. Very mild in mouth, some toffee. Quite rich. Very tasty actually, after a quiet start. Little bit of spice or honey I thought. Coffee flavours too. Nice
