Pint at the brewery. Pours black, with a medium, dense, tan head. The nose is toast, anise, pecan, caramel, coffee, and a touch of tannin. Sweet and malty, with a sharp bitterness. Medium body, with a sharp, biting palate. This is a simple and solid stout, but not much fruit.
