On draught at Washington Nationals Park. The beer is amber with a medium thin and foamy light beige head that dissipates steadily. Spotty lacing on the cup. Sweet malty aroma with just a bit of hops. Medium body with flavors of sweet malt and hops plus a hint of nuts. The finish is clean and malty with some sweetness left over. Average overall, and if I knew this was an Altbier when I ordered it I would have been disappointed, but as far as beers go that one can find in an MLB ballpark, I was satisfied.

Location: I had an old rating of this one, but I'm drinking one today, so I'll just use this sampling to add it to Ratebeer, got this one from Gilly's, 7/9/09
Aroma: Sweet and malty/bready with a bit of spice,
Appearance: Mostly orange color, hints of red and yellow
Flavor: Decent taste, sweet, but just a bit off from a good flavor
Palate: Medium body, a bit of a soapiness to it
Overall Impression: This is a decent beer, but it is not one of my favorites. It is certainly drinkable, but I would not go out of my way to get it...

On tap at the Dominion Brewpub. Clear copper amber body with a small frothy off-white head. Grain and slight munich aroma. Munich flavor with some light grain. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Bottle: Poured a deep clear copper color beer with a nice foamy head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of light caramel malt is bit weak. Taste is dominated by some light caramel malt and some unrefined grain or adjunct that is not too pleasant. Body is a bit light with some good carbonation. I was under the impression that this was an amber ale until I check on the website and noticed that this was an attempt at an Altbier – definitely off-style but fortunately I don’t rate to style .

Yet another unfamiliar beer brought to me by my beer club. I like the name though. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this brew poured a bronze color with a small tan head. The aroma was sour malt and mild hops. The flavor had a definite hop bite but was lacking in any complex hop definition. It was bitter but also rather bland overall with only a bit of malt and flowery hops on the finish. This beer had some potential but managed to under perform.

A good red colour to the beer, and a pretty decent smell. The taste was pretty average, not too strong nor weak, not too hoppy nor malty. Just an average 'red' ale, but worth trying if you can find it. I had this on tap at the Ramada Inn (BWI Location).

Their regular altbier. Copper, lots of spalt on the nose, slight mineral character, chalky body. Similar to some of the lighter alts, like Schumacher.
