Half pint at the brewery - clear copper with a substantial, lasting head - nose and flavor of light caramelized sugars, herbal and fruity hops, mild toffee, faint earthiness - finishes lightly spicy/peppery - a straightforward, clean take on the style.

Half pour at the brewery. Pours dark brown, with a big, frothy, tan head. The aroma is leather, burnt malt, caramel, and licorice. Kinda dry, with a burnt bitterness. Medium to heavy body, with a hard, grainy, and syrupy mouthfeel. This is a peaty and aggressive beer, but quality.
