Abbey is an amber-coloured, full-flavoured ale. The edges of the Challenger and Northern Brewer hops are balanced by the smooth malty richness of the barley.

Bottle. It’s a hazy, orange beer with a small, off-white head. Very cellary nose with some rubber and yeast, as well as a decent hoppyness and some hazelnut notes. It’s nicely carbonated, medium bodied and dry. Bitter flavor, especially in the finish. Some malts and a touch of yeast too. Overall, a quite decent beer, at least after you get used to the strange aroma. 110819

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 12/05/2011. Medium brown in colour with a decent, off-white head. Sweetish, slightly earthy aroma with some fruity malts. Flavour of chewy malts, a touch of orange with a pleasantly bitter finish. Fine.
