Dominion Oak Barrel Stout is rich and smooth, a draught brew so popular at our Brewup that we found a way to bottle it for a wider audience. We combine seven different malts and two hops to create a delicious stout, that we dry-hop with fresh vanilla beans and toasted oak to finish our little treasure. The result is a stout that has the bourbon barrel flavor we all enjoy, and hope you will to.

Bottle (out of date) from Craft Beer Oasis, Crewe – drunk at home. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a large beige head. The aroma is sweet and fruity – musty red wine and pear drops. The fruitiness continues in the mouth, berry fruits and mushy apples mixed with vanilla. There’s roasted malts in the mix as well, but they are hiding underneath. Some soaked wood and Jamaican rum as well. Finish is still fruity, but now with a slight bitterness. Very nice and hides its strength well – but not a lot of actual stout character to it.

29/12/2020. Can from Beers of Europe, BB 28/2/2021. Pours very dark brown with a rich tan coloured head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, wood, vanilla, liquorice, ash, touch of oak smoked meats. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Quite smooth, carbonation calmed after an initial fizz. Served fridge cold, seemed quite so-so, but got much better as it warmed in the glass.

Half-pint by keg, listed with 6.0 % abv, shared with Finn at Euston Tap. Upper part lacing on the glass, firm fawn-coloured head, pitch black body. Grainy nose, oaky. Cocoa powder to the taste buds, woody backbone. Mid-sweet malty ending, nicely roasted. Fine bodied. Pretty good. (London 07.02.2020)
