On tap in a flight at the brewery. Pours a nice, ruby, brown color, with a small, beige head. The aroma is pumpernickel bread, light, dark cherries, straw, a bit of peat, and toffee. Sweet and malty, with a mild bitterness that gives good balance. Heavy body, chalky, sticky, and thick. A pretty solid and tasty beer, and a bold attempt at an underrepresented style.
