Bottle online from The Cheddar Ales Brewery. Pours a slightly hazy deep copper colour with a thin off white head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, toasty brown bread, fruit cake and sweet caramel. Taste has more deep flavours of fruit cake, caramel, butterscotch, honeycomb, lots of spice and burnt toasty bread on the finish. Perfect amount of bitterness on the finish. Nicely balanced. Medium body, low carbonation and smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Really enjoyed this. Lovely beer.

Bottled. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, wood, earth and some mild nutty and honeyish notes. Also a mild alcoholic sweet sting. Flavour is quite similar in a nice balance. Pleasantly balanced and nice.

50cl bottle from Bellingerโs, Grove, Oxon. SLightly hazy copper with a scummy looking off-white head; pleasantly orangely malt aroma; rich caramel malt flavour with a thick butterscotch texture; crisp, lightly bitter finish. A good, no-nonsense, strong ale.

500ml, bottle conditioned, organic beer. Deep, dark brown gown under a thin, but lasting off-white head. A touch of dark malts to the nose. Sweet malt-fruity flavoured entwined with bitter, dark fruits and a yeasty touch. Rounded palate and well bodied (10.08.2008).
