Cask at the Assembly Rooms, Solihull. Poured a deep mahogany with a copper orange hue and a frothy off-white head. The aroma is weak malty leading to a weak bitter flavour, with some peaty smoke and a little liqourice. The palate is somewhat watery though, so for me itโs hardly satisfying. I would not order another.

Cask @ GBBF 2011. Pours a dark brown almost black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty spicy caramel aroma. Fruity malty caramel flavor with some bready hints. Has a roasted malty caramel finish.

Cask, one-third pint ordered at the Lister bar, GBBFโ11. Coal black body. Fragile patches at the surface. Aroma of earthy malts. Flavoured with dark sweet malts and bread along with hints of dried fruits. Notes of salt, too. Creamy in the mouth. OK (London, 04.08.2011).

Cask @ GBBF 2011, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.Clear medium red btown colour with a small to average, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, toasted, caramel, sewer - drain notes. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, cheap malt, thin. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. Cask@GBBF2011. Deep amber colour, small head. Aroma is fruits, caramel, mild nectary notes as well as some slight toasted notes and also quite hoppy. Flavour is wood, syrup, earth, some roasted notes as well as some caramel notes. Mild meaty notes in the finish.
