GBBF. Clear brown beer with a residual white head, Light dry palate. Light bland malts - trace of toffee. Trace of insipid hop. This much to English for my liking! Dull!

Cask (gravity) @ GBBF 2011, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England. [ As St. George Nut Brown Ale ].Clear medium amber colour with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, nutty, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20110802]

Cask@GBBF2011 (as St. George Nut Brown Ale). Deep amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is fruits, wood, some raisins, strong spruce and pine needles as well. Flavour is bready and biscuity malts along with some caramel and wooden bitterness. Also some slight toasted notes towards the finish.

From cask. Pours cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma dark roasted malty and caramelish. Dark malty and caramelish flavoured. Bitter, dark malty and caramelish flavoured finish.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Nut brown ale label. Pours a clear reddish amber color with a medium sized frothy brown head. Good head retention and decent lacing. Malty aroma with nutty notes, a hint of chocolate and citrus and leafy hops. The taste is pale malts, nuts, leafy hops and a bit of a salty note. Thin-medium bodied. Decent, not great.

on tap-pours a thin white head and amber color. Aroma is medium malt-caramel, some fruit, earthy hops. Taste is medium malt-caramel, some fruit, earthy hops. Slightly nutty/dry as I get further in.

This beer was purchased as part of the St. George "Dragon pack", six different varieties available from the brewer. The nose was a delicious honey and nuts, brazil nut and peanut. It is copper colored with a small white head, with good clarity. The taste fell flat. There were no discernible flavors, with just a very slight hint of hops at the finish. I hope the brewery will rework this beer, because it has potential. I wasn’t terribly impressed.

A hazy dark amber beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of hops and nuts. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, and brewing mash, as well as lighter notes of nuts, leading to a slightly hop bitter end. An OK beer, but to me it lacks some character.
