This blood-red ale may not be what you expect from a malty and hoppy craft beer. Evil Twin has a rich malt character, without being overly sweet. It has a huge hop character, without being overly bitter. It is a great example of a bold, rich, balanced craft beer, without being heavy and hard to drink in quantity. Our Evil Twin is only bad because it is too good to resist.

Can@Simon The Tanner, London - dark dark reddish brown with off white head. Dark hoppy and fruity aroma and taste, some caramel, fudge, dank dark piney hopey action, some nice herbal piney spicy hop bite into the finish. Nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can. Dark amber color with a thick tan head. Plenty of sheet lacing. A pleasant aroma of citrus and florals with moderate malt. Taste is on the sweeter side, hoppy, and nutty. Good hop presence, but not bitter. Very smooth. Feels like it works as intended.

This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a nice looking dark hazy red almost brown color with a nice transparency about it. A one and a half finger-ed white to off white foamy head dissipated within less than two minutes. Yeah, that head really stuck around longer than a lot of other beers I’ve had. Nice! Lacing was somewhat thick and foamy.
The smell started off with bitter citrus over bitter pine. Its sharp and strong and allows a nice little bit of caramel underneath to balance.
The taste was mostly bitter with a nice underscore of sweet between the caramel and the hops. A light caramel to bitter citrus rind scores in the aftertaste and leads to a semi-dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly nice sessionability about it. Carbonation hits nicely as an American Strong ale - decent bitter harshness but still balanced by caramel sweetness to not be overly done.
Overall, I say this was a nice beer, I’d have again.
