On tap at the brewpub today.
This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown almost black color with a thin white cap of a head that dissipated fairly quick. Some messy lace.
The aroma had some nice roasty coffee beans, delicate dark fruits and then some sweet milk chocolate. Just a touch of sweet sugar cane at the end.
The flavor does a good job of blending between roast and sweet. The milk chocolate and sugar cane to roasty coffee beans. Well balanced roasty to sweet aftertaste. Quick wet roasty finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a good sessionability about it. Nice carbonation. ABV felt fine.
Overall, nice porter for the most part, perhaps a bit sweeter than wanted but the brewpub did say they added sugar cane to this. Still, worthy of coming back to.
