Original Sin was born out of the NYC experience. The founders, all NYC’ers, came to see the need for a superior cider, a cider that was clean and complex with a noticeable bite. The quest to create the perfect recipe encompassed both day and night. Day was spent in upstate in a winery, tasting, testing and mixing. Nights were spent in NYC bars, getting feedback from bar owners and patrons. The result, Original Sin Hard Cider was released to immediate acclaim from sources as diverse as the The New York Times, Paper Magazine, and Market Watch.

Clear with only a faint yellow. Nose has a very faint acidity of Granny Smith and heirloom dry apples. Taste is good. Sharp sweetness that fades to a very hearty finish. I like this one

Thank you Shari for sending this to me.
She sent 2 bottles. One was poured into a pint glass and the other was poured into a wine glass.
The appearance was the same in both. A slight hazy amber color with a transparency about it to allow a bubbly carbonation to be seen rising.
The smell had a sweet to tart apple note and an added sugary note as well.
The taste was moderately sweet with a balancing tartness that was pretty good.
On the palate, there’s a certain sharpness but still a light sticky dry sweet apple rolling over my tongue. I would say that this one sat about a light on the body.
Overall, not a bad cider. I think I could return to this if I saw it again or if offered.

Draft and bottle. Poured a clear golden yellow color with no real head to speak of. Aroma is apple juice, sweet, some alcohol. Flavor is sweet, sugary, with some light dry notes. Better than most macro-style ciders.

12 oz (350ml) bottle, 5.5%. Clear pale yellow colour, foam white head and aroma of sugary fruity apple. Taste is sweet, apple, fruity, melon, light wood and abit of tartness. Slightly foamy mouthfeel, light bodied, low to medium carbonation, dryish finish with some residual sweetness. Quite OK.

On tap @ Olde Hickory. Pours a clear super fucken light appearance with little head. Sweet tart apple juice aroma. Really basic. Moderately tart. Not overly sweet. Just tastes like apple juice.

350ml bottle from Hand Drawn Monkey, Huddersfield but first tasted in the Big Apple, so to speak. Seem to remember it tasting better over there. Pours clear to light yellow, taste is light with green apples, desert apples and a syrupy sweetness although not as full on as the likes of Bulmers. It’s an accessible, sweet blend but my tastebuds want something a bit rougher than this.

16.06.2013, tap @ Alewife Queens:
Tiny fizzy shortlasting head. Aroma is slightly neutral with hints of apples, hay and yeast. Taste is slightly fruity, fresh green apples, yeast, hay. Fair enough.
