INDIA PALE ALE
Pale orange, with grapefruit, pine, and tropical fruit aromas
India Pale Ales were originally brewed to withstand long ocean voyages by increasing the quantity of hops and malt used in their Pale Ale predecessors. Our take on IPA pours pale orange with a balanced malt presence and finishes with a combination of grapefruit, pine, and tropical fruit notes from Pacific Northwest grown hops.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle with a bottle date of 5/12/2015. Aroma is balanced between the hops and malt with a medium light, pale cracker note with some light caramel. Moderate grapefruit, stone fruit and resin with lighter tropical fruit and orange. Pours a fairly clear copper orange with a medium sized, slightly off-white head that recedes moderately quickly to a thin film that lingers. Moderately high lacing and medium legs. Flavor has a light sweetness with some malt notes of cracker and a light caramel and biscuit note. Moderately strong bitterness. Moderate grapefruit, orange and pine resin notes with lighter stone and tropical fruit. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice IPA but a bit maltier than I prefer. Nice traditional hop notes, but its lacking the super fruity newer hops.

Bottle shared at Leightons place. Thanks to Colin. Bright golden / yellow / straw coloured pour with a fine white head. Aroma is big spicy dank hop, little onion, funky orange rind. Flavour is composed of Clean base grains, earthy, spicy pine, and citrus hop, little dank on the edge. Palate is medium light, semi sticky hop resin on the tongue. Firm earthy pine needle bitterness. Decent

Received in trade from Bencooper27, thanks for the opportunity! Pours a slightly hazy light golden color with a good sized fluffy white head that recedes slowly leaving lots of lace on the way down. Aromas of grapefruit pine and resin with a slight earthy edge. Malt aroma? maybe? The flavor is lightly bready malt with a light sugar edge. Earthy pine and resin flavor with only hint of citrus. Light hop bitterness. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick resinous mouthfeel. Very nice IPA, I’m glad I was talked into trying it.
