Brown Ale brewed with Coffee: People say that brewing is the world’s second-oldest profession; some even say it’s less dignified than the first, but that’s only because they haven’t spent time with Divine Brown. Made with a prodigious quantity of raw oats and a gentle touch of dark-roasted coffee, this boot-knockin’ brown does the trick every time.

6.9/10 Appearance 8 Aroma 7 Flavor 5 Texture 8 Overall 7.5
Poured into a mug, the appearance was a rustic dark brown color with a sly transparency about it. Some carbonation could be seen rising to fill a finger’s worth of foamy white head. After dissipation, some speckled lace.
The aroma had some sweet oats/grains, light sweet and roasted nuts, soft caramel malts and a touch of leather. Some earthy hops pepper their way in at the end.
The flavor somewhat blends the malts to the hops. Does a little bit of a disservice as the peppery earthiness seems to distract just a little bit. Aftertaste had some of the sweet oats and caramel malts. Finish is a bit of the pepper and roasted nuts.
The feel was about medium bodied, perhaps just a touch under. It’s fairly sessionable as the peppery earthiness isn’t too harsh. Malty smoothness helps the spice escape properly. Good carbonation. ABV felt good.
Overall, for the most part, it’s a decent brown ale that I could come back to.
