The classic German malts are appropriately the star or the show in this brew named for our friend who picks up our spent grains to feed his cattle. Birt’s Bock is clean and crisp with a medium body and notes of toasted bread and light caramel. One of Mr. Birt’s favorite brews is the “shining” star of Texas beers, and while that is a slightly different style now, it has solid roots with the German and Czech immigrants in the early 1900’s who sought to emulate classic styles like the Munich Dunkel lager.
