Draught at the brewpub. Clear brownish amber. Light bready roasty nose. Dry with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Fairly clean flavourwise, remaining dry and completely without sticky caramel. Low bitterness.

Tap, orange amber, lacing off-white head. Bready light fruity nose hop notes. Bready base, grassy finish. Medium body, chewy. Moreish.

Literflasche, gesponsert von Frankenland! Clear, amber coloured with a small, lacy beige head. Nuts, but also burnt malt and a touch of barnyard in the nose. Light to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied. Burnt malt - again - and vegetables in the slightly metallic finish. Poor by franconian standards.....

100cl growler, with thanks to Frankenland. Slightly hazy, amber to chestnut-brown colour with a short off-white foamy head. Light-sweet and toast-malty aroma with caramel/toffee. Bitter-sweet flavour, toast-malty and slightly nutty taste with notes of caramel/toffee, accompanied by burnt elements. Quite light bodied, slightly fizzy on the tongue, dry and slightly burnt bitter finish with a light hops character. Drinkable but not a world-shaking Dunkel, at least by Franconian standards [09.XII.08].
