Just when you thought it was safe to go outside, our Black IPA returns! Originally named for the murder of crows who inhabit the farm, this version was aged for 3 months in Elijah Craig Bourbon barrels and appropriately renamed. Pouring black with off-white foam, it brings notes of bittersweet chocolate, cocoa, and toffee. Oak and Bourbon from the barrels bring depth and complexity, while additions of orange zest boost the once subtle citrus notes. This unique combination of flavors reminds many of us of a chocolate old fashioned cocktail.

Draft at Manor Hill Brewery. Poured a pitch black color with a small tan head, maybe a little bit of light coming through on the edges when held in the sun. Aroma was huge barrel, overpowers everything else. Vanilla, toffee, bourbon. Light roast, with some bitter chocolate. Huge, bourbon, oak. Still, relatively smooth, despite some rough edges with the alcohol in this one.
