Bottle at Fiere Margriet, Leuven. Dark golden with a small white head. Fruity and vineous aroma with malty notes and a touch of tannins. Sweet fruity and malty flavour with oak notes and a tannic bitterness.

(Draught at Muted Horn, Berlin, 27 Aug 2017) Golden amber colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, sourish nose with notes of white wine, oak wood, dried fruit and grapefruit. Fruity, slightly tart taste with white wine, tropical fruit, oak wood, grapefruit and a slightly harsh finish with hints of tannins and a balanced citric bitterness. More than medium body, quite dry. Interesting and quite tasty, with lots of oak character. Nice one.

8 3 7 3 15 Draft at BXL Beer Fest, Brussels ’17. Hazy orange with an off white head. Aroma of huge oak, brett funk, floral and vinous notes. Flavour is above moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bxlbeerfest. Pours golden. Aroma is sweet, mslty, oaky. Flavor is sweet and bitter, oak, malt, caramel hops. Finish is somewhat dry and caramelly. Overall: ok.

Glass at 24 uurs van Maastricht 2017: Amber beer, small head. Aroma is white wine, wood, malt. Taste is the same, somewhat more flavour than the silver.

Bottle at home, 6th May 17. Pours dark orange amber, with a perfect inch head. Aroma is wood, barrel, vineous, yeast and cellar, slight funk. Taste is musky, bitter, sour, citrus, bitter pine, vineous woody infused notes, damp cellar, funk. Complex and truly delicious.

(500ml bottle from boxbeers.dk shared) Pours lightly hazed medium orange with an average but well lasting white head and lots of lace. Aroma is unsurprisingly vinous with white grape, tart stone fruit (nectarines?), unripe mandarin, lemon, light bready malt, oak, subtle vanilla. Palate is extremely barrel heavy, white grape, light gooseberry, Meyer lemon, aromatic orange peel, herbs, dried flowers, woody. Finish is herbal, spicy hops, wood, leather, vinous, moderately bitter. Aftertaste dry with low astringency. Medium bodied, smooth low carbonation. Very interesting beer, of course not IPA-like in the modern sense but a great use of a nice barrel.

(Bottle, 0.5 l - BBE A/17, at Stadin Panimobaari, 20161001) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had vanilla, grass and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, vanilla, sweetness, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste had vanilla and bitterness. A weird brew.

500ml bottle @ Stadin Panimobaari. BBE Jul 2017. Pours orange with a small head. Aroma of earthy notes, oak, berries, ripe fruits and grapefruit. Taste is sweetish, smooth and vinous oaky with some wood, citrus, earthiness, grapefruit and berries. Finish is spicy, earthy and woody with some grass, oak, vinous notes. Interesting.
