Pookie’s is a traditional Polish porter--a type of dark lager. Our dark, malt-forward lager is made richer (calories + protein) with cranberry beans--a type of kidney bean--added to the mash, a tradition in Poland for more than 130 years. With substantial malt character and modest sweetness from the brown sugar and molasses, this beer drinks lighter than heavy American versions, ending with a smooth, rounded finish and a hint of licorice.

Pookie was Doug’s (our head brewer) father’s nickname for his mom. This beer is meant to honor her, as well as their Polish heritage.
