Sunshine was the first beer ever brewed by Monty’s back in 2009. A golden, moderately hoppy, floral ale packed full of citrus aromas. With a wonderfully distinctive, dry finish.

Flaske 0,5l fra Kjeller 5. Lys gylden. Høyt luftig skum som varer. Litt lacing. Forsiktig syrlig fruktaroma. Smaken svakt maltig med en tørr fruktig avslutning. Litt tynn - men en god tørsteslukker.

Fin frisk duft av frukter og en anelse eikeduft. Tykt hvitt skum. Fin lys gulbrun litt dunkel farge. God frisk fruktig smak, lettdrukket og god.

500ml bottle from Kjeller 5 in Tromsø. Dense and frothy white head with good retention and patchy lacework. Golden body, slightly hazy. Fresh floral hoppy nose joined by pale malts. Citrus to the taste buds, lemon and orange, dusty and earthy. Clean mild bitter end, semi-dry. Soft in the mouth. Refreshing and a fine partner to a rather spicy pizza. Just the right one to celebrate the return of the sun after two months of darkness in the extreme north (Tromsø 25.01.2014).

Hand-pulled pint on 28 Sep 2013 during a North Shropshire Pub Crawl. Lovely light coloured bitter, the off-white head stayed for the whole pint, I like that to happen. No great aroma or taste, just a good blend of flavours: leaning slightly towards semi-sweet maltiness, but the hops give a good account of themselves too, with a fine, dry finish. Nice beer and a pleasant change to see two Monty’s beers in cask form on offer after so many nationals had been seen during our Crawl.

Cask half pint @ Powis Arms, Lydbury North. Pours a clear gold, small white head. Much the same as below, but extremely light with a delicate malt sweetness. Aug 11th 2013 - 500ml bottle at home in France. My first from Monty’s and it’s not that bad. A biscuity aroma, continuing into the taste with a dry, bready bitterness to the malts. I don’t usually go for beers that are too earthy and bitter but there’s a lightness to the hops and carbonation that makes this a pleasant, if not outstanding, beer.

0.5l bottle. This is a light cloudy dark golden/orange one absolutely packed with tons a of tiny particles floating around and a really good looking big fluffy white head. It smells of something almost light yeasty with a good amount of dry grassy hops. Also some sweet traces of candy, but that's all the way in the background. It has a somewhat thin almost watery mouthfeel and the carbonation is right below average. Old red strawberries from the freezer, something kinda earthy. It has a little bit of both fruitiness and bitterness this. The flavors are not bad either. Ends soft dry on the tongue. A fair enough beer, but it grows a bit old when you are about half the way into the bottle. 05.04.2013

50cl bottle from Meny Løren. Pours slightly hazy golden with a nice, white head. Lightly hoppy and fruity aroma with malt and hints of citrus, flowers, herbs and yeast. Medium to light body with a fairly sof carbonation. Moderate sweet and fruity with a lightly dry and pleasantly bitter finish. Well balanced. Nice and sessionable.
