This Brett Pils starts out as a The Royal Rug and then is racked into a chardonnay puncheon for a secondary fermentation with our house Brettanomyces solera.
It spends 6-10 months in the puncheon developing its character over time. The result is a very complex lager that is both delicate and rustic with notes of lemon pith and toasted grain, but it’s not over the line!

Bottle from AE, 11/27/22. My 100th Alternate Ending Beer rating here in just over 2 years, and it is another excellent one. Only my 7th 100 tick brewery, joining 5 other NJ breweries and one NY (Other Half). Unclear golden color with a white head and fairly strong lace. Aroma is grains, spice, and lemon zest. Rather funky. White wine grape. Herbal notes. Flavorful. Very drinkable. Tons going on. I'm happy to drink as much beer as these guys want to make, especially in the lager and funky genres. Great work by Brendan, Steve, and the rest of the brew team. Here's to the next hundred!
