Italian Pilsner 4.9%
Dry Hopped with Saphir
Sweet Grain/Black Tea/Gorlami
Our first-ever Italian Pils comes in at just under 5% and was dry-hopped with German Saphir (a little ironic) that has a complex but balanced spicy, floral and fruity character to it. The result is a really beautiful pilsner that has herbal notes of black tea with a sweet grain backbone from the decoction process.

Doing this rating after having a # of 16 oz cans and a few draft over the last week, call it 8/1-8/5/22. All purchased from or consumed at AE. Canned 7/28/22. Mostly clear darker golden color, off-white head. Dough, biscuit, earth, grass, and spice. Nice bitterness level, with a mid-sweetness. Maybe a touch more malt backbone than I expected for this style, which seems to be the sweetness's source. Nice feel. Nice beer. This one is quite good in cans, but it's even better on draft in that rather perfect vessel for it (the dimpled mug).
