The German name translates to "Yes! Black beer" -- which is what we thought to ourselves after sampling the first half liter mug of this beautiful dark brew from one of our dedicated horizontal lagering tanks 8 weeks into its cold conditioning period.
Clean, complex malt aromas and flavors of toasty bread, dark fruits, semi sweet chocolate, and light roast coffee are met with a gentle floral and herbal hop bitterness resulting in lower levels of sweetness and a refreshingly crispy finish that invites another swig.
We get notes of bread crust, graham cracker, kola nuts, plum, bittersweet chocolate, floral hops, caramel, and light roast coffee.

16 oz can from the Source, 2/21/21. Canned 2/17/21. Dark brown, creamy foam of tan head. The lace is moderate. Heavy roast, burnt and smoked hints as well. Smooth, clean, dry. Lengthy finish. Tasty stuff, and right on point for the ABV and style.
