Some call it the Heart of the Ocean here at AE. Others call it the most vengeful stout you’ll ever taste. We call it, Jack’s Revenge. This traditional Oatmeal Stout is brewed with copious amounts of oats, which provide a beautiful creaminess yet still have a soft roastiness from the dark malts we include in our grain bill.
While many who have been inside our taproom know Jack’s to have a strong espresso flavor, we decided to leave out the coffee for this can release so the Brazilian Amburana wood could shine in all of its luxuriousness. It truly amazes us how Amburana wood comes through in an explosion of Gingerbread while still providing that barrel-aged flavor of subtle cedarwood. Don’t let go of this can because there is only one who rises from the cold deep water, and you don't want to meet him.
