Introducing our take on an emerging new sub-style of New England IPAs being dubbed as Oat Whip IPAs.
We brewed this extreme beer with over 50% flaked oats to take the soft and creamy mouthfeel to a whole new level. No lactose was added to this one, but the medium body drinks like a silky-smooth hop milkshake with very little bitterness. We dry-hopped this beer with more hops than ever before, and the result is huge tropical and citrus fruit-forward aromas and flavors.
We get notes of ripe mango, grapefruit, lychee, passionfruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, and a hint of pine.

16 oz can from the Source, 7/22/20, canned 7/15/20. Fully hazed white-yellowish color, creamy white head, and fairly strong lace. Big juicy aroma and taste of grapefruit, passion fruit, and mango. The oat whip thing here is pretty interesting, not something I've seen a ton of, but it does really have a fluffy, smooth, creaminess to it that is reminiscent a lactose, but also somewhat different. Really interesting. I like this one a lot, and I'm curious to see other examples show up in the future. I'm certainly not against any trend that decreases the use of lactose in beer.
