Hybrid between a Russian Imperial Stout and Oud Bruin.
Opposites attract. This sweet sour marriage combines the viscosity and robustness of a Russian Imperial Stout with the winy delicacy of our flemish red ale. Tasting this beer is like a Sovjet bombardment on your senses that throws you from Moscow to Modena and back, to find balanced somewhere in the middle. The aroma reveals chocolate, raisins and Syrup de Liège, with a sense of port wine. The thick, sweet start creates the expectations of an antitussive that pampers the throat. The tantalizing sourness when you swallow, though, crushes that expectation immediately, so you have to start all over again. Comrades, unite and drink this oil of brotherhood!

Dark cream head, not large but consistent, over black beer. Lactic acid, acetic acid, oud bruin on steroids, and indeed balsamico. 'Mon Chéri' with a dash of lactic and acetic acids. And again balsamico vinegar. This is really a soured, liquidized version of cherry-kirsch pralines. Velvety feel, yet good carbonation, full bodied. Incense in the aftertaste. Remarkable, even when I prefer the Naked. Thx to Stef!

Bottle from Biab. Oily Black with a moderate brown head. Nose is a bit funky, soy/vinegar/roast malt/something almost solvent-y. The flavor is great though: complex fruity dark sour notes, a bit of sweetness but well balanced by acidity and hop bitterness. Definitely a must-try for wild sour lovers. Not super smooth I must admit. Just be prepared for a Putin-defying blend of powerful flavors. The comparison to balsamico is not wrong. 💪😁👍

330ml bottle. Ratebeer euro swap. Thanks JefVerstraete! Poured dark brown in color. Port wine nose and aroma, fairly sweet. Full bodied. Marmalade. Some balsam vinegar notes perhaps. Surprisingly nice.

330ml bottle. A bit weird, slightly sweet and sourish with hints of roastiness, sherry and vinegar. Unbalanced.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, thanks VastActiv, at Arde, 20210123) The beer poured golden black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had wood, balsamic vinegar, berries, port wine and sweetness. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were wood, burnt malts, balsamic vinegar, sweetness, tartness and bitterness. Aftertaste had tartness, vinegar and bitterness. Different but delicious.

Bottle at Ardes residence, Helsinki. Color is reddish brown with very small head. Aromas and flavors: Sugary jammy sweetness, red vineous elements... very strange but interesting!

Weird and a little bit over the top. Nice tart and acidic flavors, some sweet and licorice, some vineous. Wild Mixtur. 21.12.21: Sensory Session #45: Jenns Birthday choice: deep Black color and a tan head. Old Balsamico as you open the bottle. Red berries and Black currant, acidic, vinous, and a good balance of sweet & sour
