Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a near black color with a thin frothy dark tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of smoke, roasted malts and a yeasty note. The taste is intense roasted malts, leather, smoke, peppery and spicy notes, stone fruits, berries and leafy, earthy hops. Medium-full bodied. Nice balance. A home run... Iβd have gotten a growler of this to go if not for the twoβs inane laws....
