Straw colored with a mild amount of hopping. Organic ESB is one of the few certified organic beers brewed in the world today. The malt bill is comprised of 2-row, Munich, and caramel that is flavored with organic German Perle hops.

12 oz bottle courtesy of alagnak. May WK2 notched on the label. Pour is hazed orange golden copper with a two inch beige head. Falls with soft crackling and minimal lacing. Aroma of faint cracker malt, and some sour citrus. As it opens up, the sour turns to a more pleasant floral, though not that much more pleasant. Taste is mild sour grain - with more of the soda cracker malt. I am not sure if the sour edge is intended or not, but it does not really help or hurt this beer. Palate is medium to light, a little oily and watery, with above average carbonation. The aftertaste is sweet and sour. Overall, a pretty forgettable beer. As it warmed, the sour came across much more like a bottle infection. Thanks for sending this my way Chris, always appreciate a Lakefront.

Aroma: Caramel malts, light hop nose, bit of fruit (cherry?), an almost medicinal quality
Appearance: Hazy amber-orange color, decent off-white head, some light lacing
Flavor: Similar to the nose, but kind of weak/light, some malts, some hops, not a lot there
Palate: Decent mouthfeel, long finish, decent amount of body
Overall Impression: It's an alright ESB, decent flavor, easy to drink, not bad, but a bit dull.

Pours a dark amber. Somehwhat paradoxically, I find the flavor of this organic beer a bit artificial. Kind of sweet, not very well-balanced. I don’t know. Perhaps I’m not appreciating the flavor this beer offers but it just does nothing for me.

Pours deep amber into a shaker. Beige micro head quickly recedes to almost cover surface. Wet socks and sweet malt aromas. Sweet and soft with upfront caramel and feet. Slight hop finish. Can’t get over the feet.

Copper coloured body with orange tints and a thinnish off-white head. Aroma of older hops, along with curacao, coriander seed and a plentiful amount of malt. Medium to Light-bodied; Hops up front in the taste with a bit of a malt kick, then followed by oranges and some sugars. Aftertaste is very bland and not very strong at all - a bit of the hops showing through, but not much. Overall, not a good showing of an ESB - more english hops needed and much more character throughout. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 06-November-2006.

Brown bottle, 355 ml, bottled in May Wk 4, gift from Luc Bourbonnière, savoured on September 8 2008; eye: auburn, lightly hazy, slight effervescence, beige head that falls rapidly and turns into a tiny ring; nose: water, light malt, caramel; mouth: light malt, ligh hops, grapefruit, finale in hops with a presence of caramelized malt, no carbonation to write about, watery, slightly sweet and bitter, light-medium body; overall: so? FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 355 ml, embouteillée en May Wk 4, cadeau de Luc Bourbonnière, savourée le 8 septembre 2008; œil : brun-rouge, légèrement voilée, très légère effervescence, mousse beige qui tombe assez rapidement et se transforme en un petit anneau; nez : eau, léger malt, caramel; bouche : léger malt, léger houblon, pamplemousse, finale en houblon avec une présence de malt caramélisé, pas de carbonatation pour dire, aqueuse, très légèrement sucrée et amère, corps léger-moyen; en résumé : bof!

Bottle. Very little going on here. Medium amber body with an average size, off-white head that disipates. The aroma is mostly malty with smells of toast and caramel. Some notes of flowers are detectable. The flavor is mostly sweet with a lightly bitter finish. Medium body with a watery texture. Plenty of carbonation. Nice enough balance, but a run-of-the-mill ESB.

Bottle from a sampler from Whole Foods Charlottesville. Aroma is hard to detect. A fant hint of maltiness. Pours slightly hazy copperish-brown. Small head with no lacing or retention. Weird taste. Very sweet. Like gummy bears.
