Hubert? I’ve heard of him. A friend of a friend knows him. Apparently he’s awesome, but we’ve never met. Well. It’s about time you did. Most you connoisseurs would just call him an IPA, but we call him an MPA. The Melvin Pale Ale. A welcomed hand shake to your taste buds. Light, crisp, fresh and a little bitty bitter. Lets just say he won’t be that jerk that leaves you at the bar at 2am. He’s low in alcohol. What a nice guy… that Hubert.

Can pour into shaker pint glass from Whole Foods, Lynnfield MA. Appearance is cloudy brownish-yellow with decent sparkle, finger-width foamy off-white head with good retention and fair sudsy lacing. Aroma is tropical fruit, citrus, light scallions and malt backbone. Taste is mild citrus and tropical fruit, dank resin, cracker malts. Palate is medium bodied with smooth texture, average carbonation and dry, more bitter than sweet finish. Overall, some nice complexity but I wish the taste had matched the aroma better.

Draught at 3 små rum, Göteborg, on January 17, 2018.Hazy golden color, yellow head with lacing. Hoppy, fruity, caramel scent. Hoppy, caramel, fruity taste. Caramel aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness.7/4/7/3/15=3.6

Keg at Brewdog Shoreditch. A light hazed golden orange coloured pour with a lasting fine white head. Aroma is resinous jammy citrus, orange rind, light toffee, biscuity malts. Flavour is composed of nice rounded medium Base malts, orange rind, light resinous hop. Pine. Decent layered hop. Old school but well put together. Palate is semi sweet, sticky hop, moderate carbonation. Nice.

Can from BD Castlegate. It pours clear golden - amber with a thick white head. The aroma is fresh, fragrant, pine, honeysuckle, juicy, tangerine, clementine and orange blossom. The taste is crisp, bitter, piney action, pithy, zesty, lemon - lime, grapefruit, tangerine, lemomade, lemon grass, lime, peppery spice, grass and straw with a dry finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Fresh, well rounded and chuaggbale. Good stuff.

Can at TNT. Citrus and tropical fruit nose, light pineapple. Pale gold, hazy. Bit sweet and malty, grains, topical fruit and orange. Good.

Sample at the Rhinegeist Rare Beer Fest 10/28/2017. Clear golden color with a medium white head that recedes gradually to an outer ring. Stringy lace. Aroma of pine, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of fruit, piney hops and caramel malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. Above average overall.

Can. Deep gold with an inch of white head. 3+ Aroma: mandarins and grapefruit, peach, some pine resin, light bread. Fairly sweet, very clean. Lots of mandarin, light bread. Moderate to high bitterness in a finish that's off dry but again spotlessly clean. It's good but a little vacant for something as strong as 6%. Always happy when a region tick is a good beer.

Keg at Brewdog Shepherds Bush, London. A hazy golden coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, malty, citrus, tropical fruit aroma. Tastes quite similar, hoppy, malty, citrus, tropical fruit.
