Bottled@CPH Beer Fest 2011. Copper colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some slight ashes, toasted malts as well as some mild chocolate and herbs. Flavour is wood, some mild toasted malts, ashes, mild liquorice and quite fruity and floral bitterness towards the finish. A bit out of balance.

Bottle @ Home. Pours dark amber with a offwhite head. Aroma of malt, coffee, chocolate citrussly fruit. Taste is malt, caramel, chocolate, lemon and grapefruit, light notes of resin. Medium body, soft carbonation. Somehow messy attempt of a black IPA, but rather good being a Ørbæk brew. 291211

Draught @ Olfestival 2011 Kobenhavn. Reddish brown with off white head. Caramel malty aroma and taste, some nuts and bread. The citric hops are very very faint. I fai lto see the IPA in this Black IPA.

Bottle, at Ølfestival 2011. It pours a clear, copper colored body and a small, tan head. Roasted hints on the palate, with citrus, pineapple and resins. Roasted, caramel maltyness with resiny hops, some pine cones and sweetish notes. Dry, medium to full body. Roasted finish with bitterness. A bit sweet I think, and not your everyday black ipa, more of a brown ipa in color at least, but it’s quite pleasant and tasteful. 110527

A very good dark ipa. Good rounded flavour, with the expected kick of hops. This is a winner in my book.
