Aged in ex-bourbon barrels from our friends at Virginia Distillery Company in Lovingston, Virginia, this German dark lager has a rich malt profile complemented by the whiskey and oak flavors from the barrel. Look for notes of caramel, raisin, plum, vanilla, stone fruit, and a touch of chocolate.

Keg at the brewery. Pours a dark brown with a red tint. Thin white head. Poor head retention. Aroma of toffee, raisin, mild chocolate. The taste is tart fruit, toffee, chocolate, raisin, mild roast. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, mild booze. Nicely balanced.
