If you're going to sin, sin big. Our Double Bock is sweet, toasty and rich, but finishes gentle. This beer has developed a serious cult following. Imagine that – a cult following in Utah...

A clear dark amber Bock with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a sweet fruity malt with light sulfur notes, strange. In mouth, a sweet fruity caramel malt with light grassy hops, licorice, OK. Bottle at Downtown Brew fest LV 2013.

Bottle (marked 11/02/12) that I picked up Superbowl 2013 weekend in Las Vegas (kept refrigerated since then). Large amount of yeast sediment noticed at the bottom of the bottle. Pours with a very mild haze over a deep bronze hued body with a thin head, poor retention and mild lace. Aromas are of melanoidins, grape nuts and an odd fruitiness that I cannot place. Cornbread and light leather. Flavors are of oxidation, cardboard, raisins, medium strong malt. Lasting leather. Low bitterness but some lasting in the duration. A bit husky, light alcohol. Suntan lotion. Some munich like toasted malt notes. Full bodied, medium carbonation. Sweet beer with a clean/crisp finish. I’ll assume that the date on the bottle is a best by and not a brewed on...

Tap at the Hey Merchant, Houston, 21/05/13. Mahogony brown with a medium light tan head which retains well. Nose is dark toffee, dark fruit, malty, sugars, light boozey notes. Taste comprises dark toffee, a little booze, dates, raisens, dark malts, toasted brown bread. Full bodied, fine carbonation, sweet boozey finish with a pinch of spice. A good take on the style !

Pours bright mahogany into a stem glass. Off white head recedes leaving no lacing to coat surface. Plum and chocolate aromas. Soft with chocolate-covered pit fruit front to back. Thin lasting dusty finish.

Looks like a glass of flat cola. Pours a dark, tea-color, with little to no head. Aroma dominated by malts. Flavor a combination of some fruity notes (raisin), with perhaps some chocolate and some coffee. Rather sweet underneath. A bit on the light side in mouthfeel. Again, kind of a disappointment (my 2nd beer from Wasatch).

Bottle @ home picked up somewhere in New Mexico. I had a really godawful Doppelbock early, so I wasn’t really in the mood for this but what the hell. Pours a clear brown appearance with a tan head. A bit woody smoky, dark caramel, slightly nutty aroma. Rich nutty, light toffee, toasty malty, kind of grainy, herbal flavor that dries out a bunch on the finish. Ok.

Bottle from Whole Foods Henderson, NV
Dark amber color, clean. Very light and simple caramel aroma. The flavor too is simple, basically caramel, with a hint of cereals; moderate sweetness; lox bitterness.
A drinkable beer, but not a Doppelbock to remember.

Bottle. Aroma was caramel and then an unpleasant sweatiness that marked it down . Dark red brown colour with white head. light lacing. Lovely flavour, caramel and toast. Some hop in the finish to prevent it from getting too sweet.

Bottle from a trade with Gription79. Pours clear dark copper color with off white head. Toasted malt and caramel aroma with some bread dough. Flavors of sweet caramel malts, tea leaves and doughy yeast with a slight metallic aftertaste. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Thanksgiving Dallas.
