Non Beer Trip Beer Trip Beer #18. Keg at the brewery. Dark brown, thin fizzy tan head, good retention. Aroma of rye, citrus, toasted malts. The taste is roasted malts, rye, dark cherry, chocolate, caramel. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness.

Growler at the 2010 March Metro Detroit tasting. Poured black with a medium brown head. Aroma was full of strong espresso notes and it dominated. Espresso was more under control in the flavor and it allowed the notes of a bit of hops and rye to come out.

On draught at the brewpub. Pours black with a medium thick and creamy brown head that dissipates slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, hops and a bit of rye. Medium, smooth body with flavors of caramel malt, fruity hops and rye. Notes of coffee as well. The finish is roasty with a hops and coffee aftertaste. A unique Oatmeal Stout that has a solid hops presence, and it works. Pretty good all around.
