So I had this beer in 2022, no ratings since 2018, it looks like this beer was produced in 2017. The label does not have a bottling date, but does have a copyright on the artwork dated 2017. So I guess it doesn't hold up super well after 5 years. And I know where to get like 6 or 7 bottles if you want them because the beer store near me only seems to sell old out of date shit. I had hoped this one might hold up, but not quite. But based on some of the last ratings, which weren't overly descriptive, mine seems more complex. First is that it has a very interesting note redolent of barrel funk and cherry pits, slight cheesiness. No coffee. Flavor starts with a bit of funk/tart, sweet at the middle, then empty, then a rising weird bitterness. Papery, sherry-like, in the aftertaste. That's the age showing. I managed to drink the whole 750, mainly because I didn't want to waste it and wanted to get a little drunk, but if it was a drainpour, I would have drainpoured. It wasn't. I feel like this might have hit an interesting peak after 2-3 years, it had an nice funkiness and complexity, but the sherry notes really tell the story of oxidation.

Keg at The Map Room. Clear copper, large foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of apricot and coffee. Taste is tart stone fruit, mild coffee. Medium bodied, delicate, lingering tartness. Nice.
