Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear dark brown with a brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has dark grains supported by grass and light pine. Flavor has strong dark grains and roasted malts with grass and a touch of pine backing.

Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 4 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 4.5
Keg at the brewpub. Near black, brown highlights, large creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of roasted malt, pine. Taste is caramel, roast, pine. Astringent, faint diacetyl. Medium bodied, oily, lingering bitterness.
